Built, independently audited role package. Everything on this page is written for this seat.

Your Stack (Swappable)

This role works against whatever tools you already run. We list the tool categories the role operates in, never a named vendor, so you are never asked to replace a system that works.

  • Marketing automation / email
  • Landing page / CMS / web builder
  • Web analytics / tag management
  • Ad platforms
  • UTM / link management
  • CRM / lead routing
  • Creative / design collaboration
  • Project / work management
  • Analytics & BI
  • AI drafting / synthesis

Deliverables

  • Campaign briefs and copy
  • Content calendar
  • Positioning and messaging docs
  • Performance and attribution reporting

Responsibilities

  • Build the campaign assets to the approved plan - landing pages, emails, forms, and ad creative slots - assembled, on-brief, on-brand, and ready for QA
  • Set up the campaign tracking - UTM taxonomy and links, conversion events, tags and pixels, and list or audience targeting - so every click, form fill, and conversion is attributable to the right campaign, channel, and asset
  • Coordinate the asset production against the plan - sequence the creative, copy, and design handoffs so the pieces arrive in time to build and QA before the launch date, and chase the dependencies that slip
  • Run the pre-launch QA - links, rendering across email clients and devices, tracking fires, form submits and lead routing, list targeting, personalization tokens, and consent - and give (or withhold) the launch-readiness sign-off on the build
  • Launch the campaign on the owner's schedule - publish the pages, send or schedule the emails, set the ads or journeys live - once QA is green, and never before
  • Pull the campaign performance back - traffic, conversions, spend pacing, funnel, and attribution against the tracking taxonomy - and assemble a report the team can read and trust
  • Scope each campaign build at intake - name the goal, the target, the tracking plan, and the acceptance criteria - so the build is right the first time and does not need a rebuild
  • Identify and escalate a broken or unverified build heading for go-live, a budget or spend change, a consent or privacy risk, brand or legal risk in an asset, and any brief that assumes a decision above the seat

The essence of this seat

The Campaign Specialist is the build-and-launch engine of the marketing campaign function.

Signature move

Pin the build contract before you build. Name the goal and primary conversion, the audience and channels, the assets in scope, the tracking taxonomy, the launch date, and what "done and launchable" means - a page with no tracking, an email with no target list, or a build with no acceptance criteria is a blind launch waiting to happen

What good looks like

converts a one-line outcome request into a scoped build contract (goal, conversion, target, channels, assets, tracking, launch date, dependencies) before building; sends the scoping questions back same-day; flags a channel/budget/consent decision above the seat rather than absorbing it

Decision rights

  • - how the campaign is built and assembled (pages, emails, forms, creative slots) to the plan
  • - the application of the tracking taxonomy (UTMs, naming, conversion events, list targeting)
  • - the build-and-launch QA and its acceptance criteria
  • - how asset production is coordinated and sequenced against the plan's dates
  • - the launch-readiness call on whether the build is correct and verified

Working vocabulary

landing page / form / email buildperformance pull (the assembled report)

What this role does

The Campaign Specialist is the build-and-launch engine of the marketing campaign function. They take the intent that arrives from campaign marketing - an approved campaign plan, a creative direction, an audience and channel mix, an offer, and a launch date - and turn it into a live, tracked, correctly built campaign: the landing pages, emails, forms, and ad creative slots; the UTM and conversion tracking that make it measurable; the coordinated asset production that gets the pieces made on time; the pre-launch QA that keeps it from going live broken; the launch itself; and the performance data pulled back so the team can read what happened. This is an individual-contributor practitioner role, reporting into a Campaign Marketing Manager (042), and accountable for a campaign that is built to plan, fully tracked, QA'd, and live on the committed date - not for owning the campaign strategy or plan (that is the Campaign Marketing Manager, 042), not for owning the budget or approving spend (the Manager and above), not for choosing the channel mix or the target (the Manager, 042), and not for owning the campaign practice or portfolio (the Senior Campaign Manager, 045, and the Director, 044). It runs the operational execution solo; an Associate Campaign Manager (041) assists this work rather than owning it. What separates great from average is a campaign that goes live correct, measurable, and on time, every time. A mediocre specialist assembles the pages and emails, ships on the date, and finds out a week later that the tracking never fired, half the links were dead, or the email went to the wrong list - so no one can tell what the campaign did, and the spend is unattributable. A great one pins the build contract down first (goal, audience, tracking taxonomy, launch criteria), builds each asset to the plan, wires and verifies the tracking before calling anything built, runs the pre-launch QA green as a gate rather than a formality, launches clean, and hands back a performance pull the team can actually trust. The output is never a folder of half-built assets - it is a reliable supply of campaigns that launch correct and come back measurable.
