Privacy Policy

Last updated August 28, 2026

This policy explains what personal information The Hired Company collects, how and why we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have - including the additional disclosures and rights for California residents under the CCPA/CPRA. The Hired Company is a product of PauseTech Labs.

1. Who we are and what this covers

The Hired Company is a product of PauseTech Labs ("PauseTech," "we," "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through this website and our services, and the rights you have. It applies to everyone, and includes the additional disclosures and rights required for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the "CCPA/CPRA").

Questions or requests: support@pausetechlabs.com.

2. Personal information we collect

Identifiers: your name, work email, phone number (if you provide one), company name, and account login details.

Commercial information: the roles, teams, or packages you are interested in, request, or purchase, and your order history.

Internet and network activity: basic, aggregated usage data about how the website is used (pages, referrers, device and browser type) so we can operate and improve it.

Professional or employment information: the business type, company size, function, and needs you enter when you build a Company Map or contact us.

Financial information for purchases is handled by our payment processor; we do not collect or store full card numbers.

We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

3. What we do not collect

We do not receive the work your role packages produce. Packages run inside your own AI workspace, against your own tools and accounts, so that content and your customers' data never reach us.

4. Where it comes from

Directly from you, when you fill in a form (Company Map, contact, checkout), create an account, or communicate with us.

Automatically, from your device and browser as you use the website.

From our service providers, such as our payment processor confirming a completed payment.

5. How and why we use it (business purposes)

To answer your enquiry, recommend the right roles, take and fulfil your order, and give you access to and downloads of what you own.

To keep your packages current and send product and service updates related to what you own. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.

To operate, secure, debug, and improve the website and our services, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

To comply with law and enforce our terms.

6. How we disclose it

We share personal information only with service providers and contractors who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes above. These include our website and application hosting platform, our payment processor, and our email delivery provider.

We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

7. We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

8. Retention

We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as we have a business relationship with you, and afterward only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required for tax, accounting, or legal reasons, then delete or de-identify them.

9. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know and access the personal information we have collected about you and how we use and disclose it; correct inaccurate personal information; delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share); limit the use of sensitive personal information (note: we do not use it for such purposes); and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

10. How to exercise your rights

Email support@pausetechlabs.com with your request. We will verify your identity by matching the information you provide against our records, and respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days, with an extension where permitted).

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and ask you to verify your identity directly.

Your browser or a browser extension may send an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control; because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for it to opt out of, but we honor these signals where applicable.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor and we do not store full card details. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above, and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
