Responsibilities
- Run a high-volume commercial field calendar end to end - lunch-and-learns, half-day workshops, local partner happy hours, metro roadshows, and third-party micro-events - mapping each request to a repeatable template and adapting it to the metro and audience rather than rebuilding bespoke
- Cluster and route programs across East metros into swings and batches that share travel and a preferred-vendor roster, so the calendar hits its lead volume at target cost-per-lead
- Build field campaign assets and registration / landing pages to the approved campaign and message - invites, RSVP flows, signage, and field one-pagers - cloned from proven templates and adapted per metro, with invite and reminder timing aligned to East business hours
- Manage vendor and venue logistics against a preferred-vendor roster - source, hold dates, prepare orders and contracts for approval, and run the on-site relationship across several events - without committing spend or signing past the seat's per-program threshold
- Set up event lead capture, route captured leads into the CRM the same day, and stand up and track a fast inside-sales follow-up SLA so velocity leads are worked before the short buying window closes
- Pull cost-per-lead and field ROI data - leads, cost, cost-per-lead against target, pipeline influenced and sourced - from the systems of record and report it cleanly and traceably against the goal and the per-program budget envelope, with a repeat / retire / re-price read per play
- Execute the approved campaign and message faithfully across every field asset and every metro, keeping the commercial field story consistent and flagging where the message does not cover what an asset or an event needs
- Scope each program at intake against a template - name the metro, the firmographic audience, the lead / cost-per-lead outcome, the date, the budget envelope, and the follow-up plan - so the program is right and priceable before any spend
The essence of this seat
The Field Marketing Specialist, Commercial East is the volume execution engine of a region's commercial field-marketing function.
Signature move
Reach for the template before you reinvent. The commercial motion runs on volume, so the first question on a new program is "which proven play does this map to, and what is the smallest adaptation that fits?" - a repeatable lunch-and-learn or workshop cloned from a template and adapted beats a bespoke build every time at this volume and this cost-per-event
What good looks like
maps the request to an existing template and adapts minimally rather than rebuilding, explicitly because of the volume; still scopes it (firmographic audience, cost-per-lead target, date, envelope, follow-up) before booking; looks for a clustering/swing opportunity; frames reuse-plus-good-adaptation as the core craft of a high-volume commercial seat
Decision rights
- - the execution and craft of each commercial field program - which template to reuse and how to adapt it, the metro-cluster routing and logistics, the vendor and venue coordination against the preferred-vendor roster, the field assets and registration pages built to the approved campaign, the lead-capture setup and the fast follow-up SLA agreed with inside sales, and the cost-per-lead / field-ROI data pull and its clean reporting
- - the acceptance criteria and readiness checks you hold before each program goes live
Working vocabulary
What this role does
The Field Marketing Specialist, Commercial East is the volume execution engine of a region's commercial field-marketing function. It is the base Field Marketing Specialist seat (053) scoped to the commercial (SMB / mid-market velocity) segment in the East region - same craft and altitude, a specific slice. It takes the plan that arrives from the Field Marketing Manager, East (052) - a regional commercial plan and per-program budget envelope, a firmographic target profile (an employee-count / revenue band, not a named-account list), an approved campaign and message, and a lead-volume and cost-per-lead goal - and turns it into a high-volume, repeatable field calendar that runs in-market: lunch-and-learns, half-day workshops, local partner happy hours, metro roadshows, and third-party micro-events, the registration pages and field assets behind them cloned from proven templates, the vendor and venue logistics run against a preferred-vendor roster and clustered into metro swings for cost efficiency, event lead capture routed to inside sales the same day under a fast follow-up SLA, and the cost-per-lead / field ROI pull that shows the region got its lead volume at the right unit cost. This is an individual-contributor practitioner role, reporting into the Field Marketing Manager, East (052), and accountable for running accurate, on-message, on-time programs at volume that return at target cost-per-lead - not for owning the commercial plan (that is the Manager, East, 052), not for owning the budget envelope or signing the contracts (the Manager and procurement), not for setting the segment strategy or committing the lead / pipeline / cost-per-lead number (the Manager and Sales), and not for the field org or strategy (the Senior Field Marketing Manager, 058, and the Director of Field Marketing, 046). It runs each program solo and it runs many; a Field Marketing Intern (049) assists tasks under its ownership. What separates great from average is running volume without losing the unit economics. A mediocre commercial specialist rebuilds every event from scratch, fills rooms it cannot price, lets the leads cool while chasing the next event, and cannot say what any play cost per lead. A great one maps each request to a proven template, clusters the East metros into swings so travel and vendors are shared, sets same-day inside-sales follow-up before the doors open because the velocity buying window is short, and hands leadership a cost-per-lead pull that traces to a system of record and tells them which plays to repeat, retire, or re-price. The output is never a busy calendar of events - it is a reliable, efficient supply of in-market commercial programs the region's velocity Sales motion can build pipeline on at a known unit cost.
