What this role does

The Senior Solution Architect is the senior presales architect who owns the most complex and ambiguous multi-system enterprise architectures, establishes reusable reference patterns and review standards, and advises strategic pursuits while remaining a hands-on individual contributor. It is a Senior IC seat whose central outcome is the hardest customer architectures become feasible, reviewable, and reusable because cross-system decisions, transition paths, nonfunctional risks, and exceptions are resolved with senior technical judgment. The work concentrates on complex multi-system solution architecture, cross-product design, transition and migration architecture, architecture review and assurance, reusable reference patterns, nonfunctional trade-off resolution, strategic-deal advisory, architect mentorship. The signature strength is solving a difficult customer architecture while extracting a reusable pattern and raising the architecture practice without taking principal-wide or managerial authority. This seat operates inside a revenue pursuit but does not own the commercial close. It converts buyer requirements, technical constraints, product evidence, architecture, and risk into a technical decision the account team and buyer can inspect. The exact segment, product, industry, proof environment, and approval policy are company-specific and must be confirmed at run time. The strict boundaries are operational rather than cosmetic:

- Solution Architect: This seat owns the most ambiguous multi-system designs, senior review, reusable patterns, and mentorship. The neighboring seat owns buyer-specific architectures within established patterns and escalates exceptional design questions.

- Principal Solution Architect: This seat leads hard deals and contributes standards and patterns. The neighboring seat sets practice-wide architecture direction, owns lighthouse technical authority, and is the final presales architecture escalation.
